SECRETARY GENERAL
Evangelia Giannopoulou (Pierce – The American College of Greece)
My name is Evangelia Giannopoulou and I am an IB2 student at Pierce – The American College of Greece. In this year’s ACGMUN, I will have the utmost honor to serve as the Secretary General of the Conference. I am excited to meet and collaborate with all of you in resolving crucial issues of our society that revolve around the theme of reaching Net-Zero.
Throughout the years, I have participated in numerous MUN conferences as a delegate, an advocate, and a chair, with this year’s ACGMUN being the final step for me that is becoming a member of the Secretariat. After reflecting multiple times on what this extracurricular activity has offered me, what immediately comes to my mind is “friends”. Indeed, MUN has boosted my public speaking skills while expanding my knowledge on current socio-political and economic issues yet the most important aspect of all these conferences is the connections, I developed with people I would not get to meet otherwise. Honestly, no matter how cliché this may sound, MUN is all about the people and I have come to the point that I can personally confirm that.
The 7th ACGMUN is a bittersweet event for me; As it will be my last MUN conference, I want to provide to each and every one of you all the amazing experiences that ACGMUN has offered me throughout the years, since I was a tiny, shy, admin up until being a member of the Secretariat.

PRESIDENT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Fani Kantzavelos (HAEF Psychico College)
My name is Fani Kantzavelos and I am an IB2 student at HAEF-Psychico College. This year, I have the honour of serving as the President of the General Assembly in the 7th annual session of ACGMUN.
Having been a member of the Secretariat last year, coming back to the 7th ACGMUN holds a lot of meaning for me, since it also marks my last MUN conference in my high school career. The past 4 years have been an amazing journey filled with ups and downs and numerous memories. While it seems almost impossible that MUN is coming to a close for me, it also is exciting to see what the future holds for the next generation of MUNers.
This year’s theme is Reaching Net Zero. Thankfully, last year, the 6th ACGMUN Secretariat was able to break down the barriers in order to finally eradicate the pressing issues on our agenda. Alongside the Secretariat, we hope that you will enjoy fruitful debate, meet new friends, and most importantly, be immersed in the authentic MUN spirit ACGMUN prides itself in.

DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL
Marilia Giannakaki (Pierce – The American College of Greece)
My name is Marilia Giannakaki and I am an IB2 student at Pierce-The American College of Greece. I have the honor of serving as a Deputy Secretary General in the 7th annual session of the ACGMUN Conference.
Having taken part in my first ever conference in December of 2021, I perceived the position of a Student Officer, let alone a Secretariat Member, as an unattainable goal. If anyone told me that, after having attended 17 conferences, both virtual and live, that I would be part of the Secretariat, I would not have believed them.
As a student striving to study International Relations and Politics, I would recommend to every student, young or older, to take part in such an activity. Apart from the diverse and international environment one enters, Model United Nations keeps the mind active and involved in topical issues of global significance, shaping future international citizens. I am of the notion that this quality is of utmost value for all students, regardless of their academic preferences.
Therefore, I would like to pass my fondness for MUN to all students attending, urging them to remain engaged in this activity and pass it on to younger generations.
Having been able to experience most positions in conferences, namely that one of a delegate, advocate, judge, student officer and now of a secretariat member, I want to tell all new-comers that everything is posse through hard work and determination. The satisfaction that climbing up the MUN ladder gave me is one of unique nature.
As ACGMUN will be my final conference, but also the last of the academic year 2023-2024, it holds a special place in my heart, as it is my farewell to the MUN community, that will have the privilege of carrying on the legacy in the upcoming years, as I once did myself.

Vasiliki Mamitsa (Deutsche Schule Athen)
My name is Vasiliki Mamitsa, and I am an 11th grader at the German School of Athens – Deutsche Schule Athen. It’s with immense honor and joy that I take on the role of Deputy Secretary General for the 7th ACGMUN, marking an important year for the conference.
My journey in Model United Nations began in 2019 when I was first introduced to the captivating world of MUN as a member of the administrative staff at my school’s conference. Fast forward four years, and I couldn’t be more delighted to find myself in this position, essentially coming full circle.
For me MUN is more than an extracurricular activity; beyond providing practical solutions to pressing global issues, it has evolved into a community that fosters friendships, sparks a passion for learning, and encourages fruitful discussions. It’s a process that truly enthuses and motivates me, and I sincerely hope to share my enthusiasm with you throughout this conference, creating another memorable experience that will stay with you!
Having experienced a significant part of my MUN journey through online and hybrid conferences, I’ve often felt like I was missing out on something. Fortunately, the ACGMUN family has embraced me with open arms and made me feel right at home.
Looking back on the conference’s successful history and ahead to its potential and the goals it aims to achieve, I consider myself lucky to continue this tradition and be an integral part of the conference’s success this year!

Foteini Gnardelli (Pierce – The American College of Greece)
Hello everyone!
My name is Foteini Gnardelli and it is a great honor to serve as the Deputy Secretary General for the 7th ACGMUN. I am 16 years old, 17 by the time of the conference, and an IB2 student studying at Pierce- The American College of Greece.
ACGMUN is a special one for me as it is my school’s MUN. I never thought I would be able to have a secretariat position, but I am so glad that the board of ACG trusted me with this title.
After several conferences and positions, I am so happy that I get to take the next step in my MUN journey and be part of the secretariat team beside four other inspiring individuals. I hope ACGMUN 2024 can live up to the legacy that has been set from the years before and am beyond happy to be able to contribute my part to the conference.
